چکیده :
Deep learning has emerged as a transformative technology in ophthalmology, demonstrating significant potential in diagnosing and predicting various eye diseases, performing precise image analysis, classifying conditions, analyzing temporal changes, and enabling applications such as personalized ophthalmology, tele-ophthalmology, and robotic surgeries. However, its integration into clinical practice is restricted by challenges, including dependence on large, diverse, and high-quality labeled datasets, algorithmic complexity, and ethical and legal concerns, particularly regarding patient data privacy and the risk of misuse. This study investigates the applications of deep learning in ophthalmological diagnostics by defining the research scope, retrieving relevant articles through keyword-based database searches, and conducting a qualitative assessment of titles and abstracts. This offers researchers insights into current advancements, addresses barriers to real-world implementation, and identifies future research priorities. Addressing existing challenges will necessitate continued investment in foundational and applied research, improved technological tools, and specialized training to unlock the full potential of deep learning in ophthalmology.
